Confused with the personal plan account?

    Hi
Not sure if this is the right place to post and apologise if it is.
I’m a complete newbie with blogging and not very experienced with tech.
I’ve watched and researched a lot of details on how to created a blog which is for personal use. However I’m really confused as every site I’ve checked states to pay for web hosting. I don’t really understand web hosting so I signed up to WordPress and took out the personal plan for one year, thinking that includes web hosting and the domain.
It seems I don’t have web hosting as WordPress doesn’t provide web hosting so does this mean I should buy a plan for web hosting and would I need to cancel my account here and start from scratch?
It’s all very overwhelming and confusing and despite trying to take my time, step by step, I want to do things right so my blog can be accessible and searchable.

Also I’m using an iPad and can’t seem to find many of the free features that are featured on tutorials for example the most popular themes and plug ins. Am I doing something wrong?
    Thank you.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  • Hi there,

All the WordPress.com plans (including the Personal you purchased) include hosting. Plus you get a free domain for the first year and I see that you already registered one.

Now, regarding all the WordPress features that you see on those tutorials (plugins, extra themes, etc.), you can have those on WordPress.com if you upgrade to the Business plan. If this is too much for you, then you can find a different host that offers WordPress hosting which will allow you to install plugins and third-party themes.

Finally, since you’re using an iPad, I recommend the official WordPress app (https://apps.wordpress.com/) which makes managing your site easier.
