Confusing characters I don't know what to do with…

  Hello all. This – seeing characters changed into gibberish when I go back and forth between composing and previewing – is new. I have no idea what is causing it. It’s not the end of the world and I can still blog, but it’s confusing to say the least.

  What’s new on my end that might have resulted in this? I have a new notebook pre-loaded with the utterly horrible windows 8. That’s all. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

  I should add that it’s not ‘everything’ that is converted. It’s apostrophes (it’s would be a victim, for example) and these characters, minus the enclosing marks: ‘>’ & ‘<‘.
