confusion about changing domain name and redirecting

  Is redirecting typing in a url and then being taken to a page with another url, or is it changing a wordpress domain name? I want to change the domain name of a free wordpress site to a purchased domain name which is parked on go daddy.

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)
