Confusion about domain costs

  Hello, I am confused about how much it actually costs to map a domain to WordPress. I have a domain at GoDaddy which I would prefer to keep there. Apparently to map my domain at WordPress I have to pay $13/annually (which I don’t mind) PLUS a monthly premium fee. I’m confused as to why both of these are necessary. Like I said, I don’t mind the $13/year charge, but why the monthly fee on top of that? I’m already paying for my domain at GoDaddy. Thanks.

  Hi there,

  To use mapping feature you will need a upgraded wordpress.com plan. Each paid plan comes with a free domain credit you can use to either register a new domain or transfer one you already own.
