confusion on the status of my blog domain .com or .org
-
Hello,
I have upgraded my service to a domain that is simply fluentinfrolicking.com I have been trying to upgrade my wordpress and add some plug-ins to my blog but I can’t seem to do so from my page. I have friends who have these options right on their main dashboard page. Why don’t I have one? Can you please tell me what community I should be looking for answers in?

We don’t allow plugins on WordPress.com for security reasons. Plugins are a feature only available for self-hosted blogs provided through WordPress.org:

I am pretty sure I am a .org customer!
I paid the $12/year fee to use my private domain.
Does doing so not mean that I have moved from .com to .org? Like I said my dashboard doesn’t allow me to upload the latest version of wordpress or have a plug-in menu.
If in fact I have not upgraded my service is there somewhere that has a walk-through of the process?
Thanks

Hi there,
Your site at http://fluentinfrolicking.com is hosted here at WordPress.com.
The domain mapping upgrade you’re referring doesn’t mean that you’ve moved to .org.
To clear up any confusion, WordPress.com and WordPress.org are two different entities.
If you want to move to a self-hosted WordPress.org installation, this guide should come in handy:
