Confusion over Sign In – Someone else using my account?

When I began answering comments this morning, I received a notice to log-in because “someone else was using the email associated with my account”.

Once I had signed in, my comment was posted, but it also appeared in my notifications with the statement that “shoreacres” had commented on my post.

I am shoreacres. What’s the deal?

An unfortunately common issue. Flagged for staff.

    Hi there,

This sounds like it could be a browser issue. Could you try clearing your cache and see if that helps? Here is more information about how to do that:

Let me know if you still see an issue after clearing the cache and cookies.

    Cheers!

I always deal with cache/cookies before posting in the forums.

The sign-in issue is resolved, as well as my own comments being posted in my notifications. Truly, I have a feeling some changes were being made and I just bumped into them before the process was complete.

I have noticed that my notifications don’t update with this bar, and once I’ve read them, they still show as new. This is clearly a glitch on the WP side, but I’m assuming that will disappear eventually, and the work-around’s to use my home page admin bar, which is functional.

    Thanks!

I did just receive notification this morning that an issue related to your original issue has been resolved – which is great!

We are making some tweaks to your admin bar (where the notifications show) – this should resolve quickly as well.

    Thank you for your patience!
