Confusion with Domain Mapping
-
This is kind of a complex issue, but I’ll try and word it as simply as possible.
Basically, I have a domain name: pockymouse.com. It’s from GoDaddy.
That domain is currently set up to direct to a Google Sites page.
But I want the domain to direct to my wordpress blog (pockymouse.wordpress.com).
So, I went to Go Daddy and changed the nameservers to the NS1.WORDPRESS.COM NS2.WORDPRESS.COM NS3.WORDPRESS.COM, and payed for the whole domain mapping thing.
Problem being, when I type in pockymouse.com, it still redirects to the google sites page. Is that just because it hasn’t had the time to redirect yet, or what?
Thanks for the help, I’m a newbie when it comes to all this! :)The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi There,
I have a similar issue (I think):
I bought a domain name through wordpress to map to my blog. However, I am switching to using the wordpress.org opensource software hosted by a different hosting service, and I would like the domain name to no longer direct to my old blog but to my new site.
I went in through wordpress.com and signed into the domain manager and switched from the wordpress servers to my new provider. Seemed to work, BUT:
– The url still maps to the old blog
– The wordpress.com “Domains” page still shows the url in the list of domains that are mapped to the old blog. Also, it has been only about 24 hours since I made this change. Will it just take 72 hours to stop redirecting and then magically disapear from the list of domains on my wordpress.com blog dashboard?
Thank you thank you!
