Connect domain and hosting to wordpress

    I signed up for a domain and hosting through HostGator. When my WordPress account was created, it does not show this information. How can I change this to connect to domain and hosting?

    WP.com: Yes
    Correct account: Yes

    Hi there! WordPress.com is separate to HostGator – if you’re using the WordPress software which comes from WordPress.org on HostGator, then that will not be automatically linked here on your WordPress.com account.

    What you can do is use the Jetpack plugin to connect them:

    It has a free option, though there are also paid services which can be useful, such as the backup service Vaultpress, Jetpack Social Share (free and paid levels) which lets you automatically link your blog posts on social media, and Jetpack Search which provides a fast, efficient search on your site (it’s like the search function we have here in the forum – give it a go to see how it looks!).
