Connect Domain I own

    I would like to move my hosting to WordPress from my GoDaddy hosting.

    How do I connect my domain that I own? I currently have a free account will it work with that?

    A lot of this webstuff is over my head so please bear with me if I’m not using the correct terminology.

    If you have a domain with GoDaddy, there are two ways you can use it with your WordPress.com site:

    1. Transfer the domain to WordPress.com;
    2. Keep it with GoDaddy and point it to WordPress.com using Domain Connection.

    You’d need to have a WordPress.com plan to use a custom domain. You can check out the plan details here and upgrade using the button below:

    If you mainly want to connect the domain, the WordPress.com Personal plan is a good starting point. It will let you choose your own domain and set it as the primary address. It will also remove WordPress.com ads from your site and increase the media storage limit.
