connect domain name

Hi! super new to this and its all confusinggg!
I purchased maddiunderwood.co.uk from 123-reg.
I also purchased domain mapping from wordpress.com..Now where do I go from here to actually have the site address as maddiunderwood.co.uk? I contacted 123-reg to ask but they said
‘Best starting point would be to contact wordpress and enquire at their end how you can connect the domain to the hosting from maddisonunderwood.wordpress.com.’
useful.. haha
Thanks for the help in advance!

Hi,
The missing part is pointing your domain to WordPress.com. To do that, log into your account at 123-reg and change your domain’s name servers to:NS1.WORDPRESS.COM
NS2.WORDPRESS.COM
NS3.WORDPRESS.COMHere’s 123-reg’s guide for updating name servers: https://www.123-reg.co.uk/support/answers/Video/Domains-Archive/Domain-Configuration/how-do-i-change-the-nameservers-for-my-domain-name-1206/
Once you’ve made the change, it may take up to 72 hours to fully spread around the internet. During that time your domain name may become temporarily inaccessible.
You mentioned being super new so here are a couple of good places to learn about WordPress.com:

Hi thanks for replying. so ive taken off the two and added the 3 (Ns1, ns2 and ns3) do I need to make maddiunderwood.co.uk the primary site or leave it as the wordpress version? when I type in maddiunderwood.co.uk into browser it still doesn’t work as my website ( does it take a while to work?)
thanks

Yes, make maddiunderwood.co.uk the primary site. It can take up to 72 hours to start working properly, but often takes less time than that. When I checked the domain info just now, the registrar was still showing the old name servers.
