connect my blog with domain name registered on godaddy
-
I have a domain name registered with godaddy. Now I want to connect my wordpress.com address with my domain name. Do I have to pay $13 / year for Domain Mapping? I want people whoc click on the link of my blog, they need to be directed to my website. Will mapping solve this purpose?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi prachititalathi,
Just to clarify, does the domain name that you have registered through Godaddy also have a website that is already hosted? Or, do you just have the domain name and need prachititalathi.wordpress.com to be mapped to that domain name so that when users enter the domain name on a browser or click on a link, it takes them to the blog?
If my assumption is correct, mapping the domain you own should do the trick. Please check out this support doc: Instructions for mapping an existing domain.
If my understanding of your question is not correct, would you mind clarifying?
Thank you!

Martin, I have a website with godaddy. I need to map prachititalathi.wordpress.com with the website.

Hi prachititalathi,
Thanks for the response! It sounds like you could use a subdomain mapping since an existing website is already in use with your domain name. It would work something like this:
Your website http://www.yourdomain.com would have your WordPress.com blog mapped to a subdomain, example: subdomain.yourdomain.com where subdomain’s contents would be prachititalathi.wordpress.com. When users want to go to your WordPress.com blog, they would type subdomain.yourdomain.com.
I hope that makes sense. This support doc will help explain the process to you: Map Subdomain.
Let me know if that does not answer your question.

You want people who click on http://prachititalathi.wordpress.com/ to be directed to your Godaddy site? Then you need the $30 a year Redirect Upgrade.
