Connect Original Domain

  If I connect my original domain, after upgrading my plan, what will happen to the current vendor who my domain was created with? Would it be possible to cancel their subscription and still keep and use the domain with WordPress?

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  It is possible to use the domain that your have purchased with your WordPress.com site. It sounds like you have already upgraded to one of the WordPress.com Plans. Great! A WordPress.com plan is needed to use a custom domain.

  What you will need to do is map your existing domain to your WordPress.com site.

  Go to the Domains page and click the blue Add Domain button.

  Next to “Already own a domain?” Click Upgrade.

  Enter the domain you’d like to map and click the blue Add button.

  Next, you will need to ask your domain provider to update your DNS settings.
  This step must be completed through the company that your purchased your domain from. You will point your domain’s name servers to WordPress.com:

  NS1.WORDPRESS.COM
  NS2.WORDPRESS.COM
  NS3.WORDPRESS.COM

  To clarify one point:

  You will still need to pay the yearly subscription to your domain provider keep the domain registered in your name. It is not possible to transfer domains into WordPress.com.

  If you have paid for website hosting with your domain provider, you can definitely cancel that subscription, as WordPress.com would be hosting your site.
