connect vs transfer domain

  I will be starting my own, small LLC (just me!) and don’t know if I should connect or transfer my domain. It’s very new and can’t be transferred yet, but don’t really understand the advantages/disadvantages of each.

  I don’t have a site with WordPress.com yet

  It’s more a personal preference type of thing, really.

  Connecting allows you to keep the domain registered with your current domain registrar and direct it to your WordPress.com site: https://wordpress.com/support/domains/connect-existing-domain/

  A transfer would allow to manage both your site and domain from the same place: https://wordpress.com/support/move-domain/incoming-domain-transfer/

  So, basically, are you an “all of your eggs in one basket” type of person, or “not all of your eggs in one basket”? :)
