Connecting a recent domain

  I recently bought a domain on godaddy (0 days ago) and would like to transfer it to WordPress to connect my site to it and make it go live. WordPress says it can’t transfer new domains and give me the date of August 1st of it being transferred. I need this site up and running far before then. How do I get it transferred asap?

  Have you got a site here at WordPress.com? A domain can’t be transferred until you’ve owned it for 60 days. You could however map it to a WordPress.com site here immediately if you purchased a Personal plan or higher.

  Hi there,

  You can find the instructions for mapping a domain to WordPress.com here:

  And once you’ve owned it for at least 60 days, you can transfer it as explained here:

  http://en.support.wordpress.com/move-domain/incoming-domain-transfer/

  But no new domain can be transferred for 60 days after registration, no matter where you bought it or where you’re trying to transfer it. This is an ICANN regulation that applies to all domains at all domain providers.
