Connecting domain to WP

    Hi, I have a Showit website but I want to change to WP. I will need several days (or even a few weeks) to figure out WP and design my new website.

    If I connect the domain, what will it happen to my current website? What will it look like when people enter my URL?

    WP.com: Yes
    Correct account: Yes

    Hi there,

    That is not an issue – you could create a site with a free WordPress.com blog address. You are assigned a .wordpress.com or a .home.blog subdomain whenever you create a site with WordPress.com, so you can just use that as the domain as you build the site and determine whether or not this is the platform you want to use. The site starts off private until you are ready to launch it.

    Once you are done developing the site, you can make the decision to transfer the domain over or connect the domain from your current host.
