Connecting my blog to my Wix as a subdomain

Trying to connect my blog to my Wix as a subdomain. Wix says to contact you wordpress for the DNS record required to point to that resource/site. Something about a CNAME record? Any tips? Thanks!

    Hi knphotographs,

Editing DNS records is not possible under free tier WordPress.com account. However if you plan to buy a plan listed here https://wordpress.com/pricing/ then you can add an extra CNAME entry to point your site to Wix. CNAME is basically a sub domain entry which is part of your main domain that you purchased.

To add a CNAME entry you can,
    1. Go to MySites > select your site if you have multiple sites.
    2. Navigate to Domain option and select the domain under which you want to add an extra CNAME entry.
    3. Select Name servers and DNS option and open DNS records.
    4. From there you can add any type of DNS record which is available in drop down.

For step by step and detailed information, please read here https://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/map-subdomain/
