Connecting my current website with Wix to WordPress

    Hello,
    My business website is run and hosted by Wix. Is there a way I can keep that website until I have built and customized a new website with word press?

    Hi everyone,

    So currently my business website was currently on Wix however I am unhappy with how Wix run everything. So my question is if I connect the domain I currently have will my Wix website be taken down right away and will the WordPress website show up even if it is not created yet?

    How can I transfer all the the information on my current website to WordPress without having issues with my website being up and running?

    Is it possible to build a website on WordPress with the same domain while having an active website on a different server such as Wix.

    Hi! That’s absolutely fine – you can start up a site here on WordPress.com and use the free address only for it (the one ending in “.wordpress.com”); you only really need to make the address change when you’re ready to migrate your domain name over to the new site.
