connecting my own domain

Hi, I am trying to connect my own domain to my WordPress site. However – every time I select connect it prompts me to pay for OwrdPress.com Premium £84 and if I remove it from the cart – the page is reverted.

    Could you please help?

If you want to connect your domain to https://ermgermany.wordpress.com/ then yes you do need to upgrade it to a paid plan for everything to work correctly. Depending on the features you need then perhaps a Personal plan would suffice.

Hi @themagicrobot thanks very much for the quick response. The personal plan says I can get a free domain. Is it worth it to cancel my domain name somewhere else with another provider and get it from WordPress with the Personal paid plan?

If your domain is OwrdPress.com then I don’t think cancelling would be a very good idea, You might lose the domain or even in a best case scenario the domain might be in limbo for months. The WordPress.com offer of a free domain is only for the first year. Instead of a free domain use that domain credit to connect or transfer your domain to the site here.
