connecting own domain name to wordpress site

  I have paid for my domian name via go daddy and have been following the instrucion to connect my domain name to my site, however it keeps asking for a payment. I am so lost, pls help me

  You do need to upgrade your free WordPress.com site to a paid plan if you wish to connect a domain purchased elsewhere to a site here.
