Connecting the WordPress generated email address to our gmail account

    The email address we set up to our site does not work. Potentially have been missing emails for months! A volunteer built our WordPress site, I have no idea what I am doing, but we still are not getting emails that were supposed to be redirected to our gmail account. Help please!

    Hi there,

    I see both the site and its upgrades belong to the username taratwirls. Because your username is not the owner I’m limited in the help I’m able to give to you. If you have access to that other username, please log into that account and post here, then I can give you more direct help.

    What I can tell you is that you don’t have email forwarding on your site, but in fact a Google Apps subscription, which means it’s a completely different account than a regular Gmail account. I see that the domain was never verified when the Google Apps subscription was bought, which is most likely why emails haven’t been coming through.

    I was able to verify the domain, but you’ll still need to log into the account and accept the terms of service before it will work. If you no longer have the activation email we’d sent when the upgrade was bought, I’ll need you to post here as the upgrade owner so I can reset the password for you.

    If you’re logged in as the username that owns the upgrades you should also be able to connect with us via live chat support in which case we can help you there much more quickly :)

    Thanks for posting as the correct account.

    I’ve reset your Google Apps password and sent you a one-time password to the email connected to your WordPress.com account.

    Please use that to log into Google Apps. Once you log in you’ll need to accept Google’s terms of service, and then the email account should be active immediately.

    Let me know if you need more help, though you might also want to try connecting to live chat via https://wordpress.com/help/contact while logged in as taratwirls. We currently have operators available in live chat, and that way we should be able to help you resolve this much more quickly :)
