Connecting two wordpress accounts to transfer website

    First of all, it is a shame that you don’t have tech support by phone! I have a developer who created a website for me on her WordPress account. I created my own account and purchased a premium plan, thinking that was needed to accept the work of the developer and transer if to my account. However things have not turned out the way I had hoped. So I need help to figure out how to get the work from my developer onto my account so we can launch the website?

    Hi,

    The premium plan certainly isn’t necessary to receive a transferred site, so you might want to ask staff for a refund or partial refond on that if you don’t need it for other purposes. Someone had called for staff attention before I arrived here, so they will eventually respond here.

    The account receiving a transferred site can’t initiate the transfer process. That must be done from the account that owns the site. So you would need to ask the developer to transfer the site to your account.     James,

    I forgot to mention that only the site owner can transfer a WordPress.com site to another WP.com account. If the developer is the only administrator on that account, then they’ll be the site owner. If there are multiple administrators, then only one of them, the site owner, may transfer the site to another account.
