Connecting with Facebook and Twitter

    My blog shows as connected to Facebook but the post does not display on my Timeline. I tried going through the suggested steps of disconnect and reconnecting, did not work. I have had nothing but problems with this Theme ever since I started with it. For instance, I also cannot go to Appearance on my Dashboard. I have to go to it by clicking on Posts first.

    In checking your user account, I see that you have several blogs under your account. Can you tell me the URL of the site you are having trouble with? I am happy to take a closer look.

    I have had nothing but problems with this Theme ever since I started with it.

    It is not typical for a theme to cause either of these issues, but I will check against that. Did you make any other changes to your site during the same period of time?

    was there some other information i missed giving you that you need?

    if it helps you to know some background, when i set this blog up it created two blogs. one of your staff deleted one of them, saying it was a computer glich. also, i couldn’t seem to pick the theme i wanted, the program wouldn’t allow me to change themes from the first one it automatically gave me. again, one of your staff set the theme for me, Sunspot. there’s been some kind of problem with the theme ever since. does this information help?

    oh, and the only changes i remember making to my site during this same period of time was to add a Linkedin connection and button (or try to), and i added a Follow By Email button.

    Sorry, I did not see that in your first message above. In checking that site, I noticed that you do not have any Publicize connections set for your site currently:

    Is this because you removed them since making your original request? Can you please reconnect to Facebook and try to make a new post to test if the connection works?

    You appear to be using an older version of Internet Explorer, which may cause an issue like what you describe. If possible, can you try a different browser (like Mozilla Firefox or Google Chrome) or even a different computer. Do you still have the same problem?

    no, i didn’t remove them, i couldn’t connect them. that was my problem. i went through all the steps in the support directives, several times, didn’t work. but after reading your answer i went back and tried again and think i found the answer.
    i checked the box that says “do you want all users of this blog to share” and that did the trick.
    don’t understand why, since i’m the only user of the blog and my other two blogs don’t have that box checked and i can share on them just fine. plus, i use this version of internet explorer on the other blogs with no problem.
    but that’s what happened.
    do you have any explantion for that?

  • Thanks. I can confirm that you have 3 services connected in Publicize, and tested them all. The connections tested just fine, so let me know if you see any issues when sharing your next post.

    Right, and that does seem odd. To confirm, you are able to access tabs in your dashboard (like Appearance) directly? What about changing themes? Works on all sites but this one?

    If you have a different browser (chrome of firefox) on your computer, and you don’t mind checking, I would be curious to know if using a different browser has any positive effect. Could offer a valuable clue, as I am unable to replicate the issue on my end.

    thanks for testing the connections.

    and that is correct, i have no problem with themes, dashboard, accessing any of it, on my other blogs.

    i don’t have a different browser, but i may try accessing it from a different computer later this week, from a friends house, with a different browser.

    i’ll keep you posted of any changes if i do.

    If you don’t have another browser on your computer (which I highly recommend, as it is free) can you make sure you have updated your current browser to the latest version? It is a security risk to use an outdated one, and it appears that you are using Internet Explorer 9. Any chance you can update to version 11?
