connecting with my domain name

  A week ago I purchased a domain site through wordpress.com but did not pick a plan. Now that I’m ready to pick a plan, I cannot connect my domain name with my account! Can someone please help me with this? I am not getting any responses from wordpress and I really want to get my website up and going.
