Connecting WordPress settings to domain.
-
Hello,
I have having trouble getting my site http://www.triadmathtutor.com online with wordpress. On my home connection I can connect to the site correctly with these wp_config settings:
// define(‘WP_SITEURL’, ‘www.triadmathtutor.com’);
// define(‘WP_HOME’, ‘www.triadmathtutor.com’;
define( ‘DB_HOST’, ‘www.triadmathtutor.com’ );
That is, WP_SITE_URL and WP_HOME are commented out. However, my website is not online. If I then uncomment WP_SITE_URL and WP_HOME I can’t connect to my site at all viawww.triadmathtutor.com. If I got to the wordpress settings (with the config file settings mentioned above still commented out) , I see that:
WordPress Address (URL) and Site Address (URL) are both set to:
https://www.triadmathtutor.com
I also believe that I noticed from before that whenever I had the values above uncommented I was getting strange things like a redirect to http://www.triadmathtutor.com/www.triadmathtutor.com/ which looked wonky and obviously didn’t go to the website.
Other things I have tried:
With the above mentioned commented out on the local machine, I can ping http://www.triadmathtutor.com correctly, but it’s connecting to the local host ip address only.
Help greatly appreciated. Thanks!The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there,
Thank you for reaching out to us with your concerns. I understand that you’re encountering some difficulties with your WordPress site. However, I do want to clarify something important: Your site appears to be hosted using the free open-source version of the WordPress software via a different hosting provider, and not on our WordPress.com managed hosting.
Because we only manage and have direct control over sites hosted on WordPress.com, it’s unfortunately not within our capacity to investigate or resolve issues arising on self-hosted WordPress sites. This is due to the different hosting environments and potential customizations present on self-hosted sites that we do not have access to.
Our managed hosting on WordPress.com provides features such as automatic updates, setup, backups, and scalability coupled with access to our WordPress.com support teams among other benefits. You can read more about our hosting service here: https://wordpress.com/hosting/
That being said, one way to get around these limitations would be to move your site to WordPress.com. We have an easy-to-use migration plugin that you can use to transfer your site. It is designed to make the process straightforward and hassle-free. You can find more information on this here:
The Move to WordPress.com plugin allows you to start migrating a self-hosted WordPress site to WordPress.com directly from the self-hosted site. Prerequisites The Move to WordPress.com plugin installed on your self-hosted WordPress site. All incompatible plugins deactivated on the self-hosted site. ✅ There is no need to create a site on WordPress.com before you get starIf you opt to continue using your current hosting service, the best course of action would be to seek help in the community support forums for the open-source version of WordPress. These forums are manned by experienced volunteers who have a robust knowledge of the open-source platform and should be able to assist you: https://wordpress.org/support/forum/how-to-and-troubleshooting/
I hope these alternatives provide some clarity and assistance. Please don’t hesitate to let us know if you have further queries.
