connection not secure

  • @faeriefiles, I’ve already verified the one in the upper right is secure.

If you’re still getting it and you have the message showing the gravatar file that is not secure, will you open the picture to see which gravatar it is, then look on the page to see what section it’s coming from?

As @ogurel pointed out, we own Gravatar, and we aren’t going to be spying on you with it. But I’d be happy to fix the issue if we can figure out where it’s coming from. Unfortunately, when I log in as you to see if I can get the same error, I don’t.

  • @pyshnov, since you have unrelated questions, can I actually have you start a new thread? Once @faeriefiles is taken care of, I’d love to close this one out so everyone who has commented won’t continue to get notifications.

@Supernovia I gave up and deleted all my gravatar photos from gravatar earlier today which may be why you can’t see the error, I cleared my cache again and I think that fixed whatever it is on my admin page. I think the other bloggers can live without seeing my smiling face on WordPress and I’m tired of struggling with it. You can close this one out and I’ll keep an eye on the news page for all the latest. I thank you for the efforts you have made to find a workable solution, with all our machinations we did manage to get my sign in screen consistently secure and that was the big one. :) .

I went ahead and found the gravatar link warning thing and put the screenshots on my blog here = https://faeriefiles.wordpress.com/2015/12/14/for-the-staff-screenshots-again/
The link that I ended up at while sniffing out the error is this one = http://www.gravatar.com/avatar/ad516503a11cd5ca435acc9bb6523536?s=250

It seems like the connection not secure warning has a few triggers. The custom domain, the blogs I follow widget and the gravatar thingy. I know ya’ll are working hard on making the site nice and I have noticed some nice changes too. Thank you. I think we’ve done all we can do until things change. I’ll keep an eye out for the changes.

  • Closing this thread.

This “mystery gravatar” isn’t yours. You don’t need to delete your gravatars. They’ll normally load up in https with your own picture or without.

I just need to know which section of the dashboard this particular gravatar is loading from. I’ll keep an eye out for that so we can fix it, but in the meantime, know that Gravatar.com is safe.
