Connections doesn’t work as it should any more; posts aren’t sent to Facebook and Tumblr since a few weeks

I have it set so that each post is also sent to Facebook, Twitter, Linkedin and Tumblr. I suddenly noticed that Facebook hasn’t been updated something like beginning of June. I thought it was because I’ve changed password for Facebook. But, when disconnectiong Facebook and connecting it again, I don’t get to enter the new password (the same goes for Tumblr) – it just says Connected. But since posts now aren’t being updated I guess I’m not logged into Facebook and Tumblr even though it looks like it in WordPress settings it I go into Publicize Settings from a certain post I want to get sent to Facebook. If I enter the Classic Editor for a post, and look at Publicize: – it clearly shows that just Twitter and Linkedin are the ones where posts are forwarded. But if I choose Settings for publicize the new window that opens shows all four (Facebook, Twitter, Linkedin, Tumblr) as connected. Any idea what’s wrong. I know this happened a couple of years ago but have no idea how I got it working…

Can I have you reset your Publicize connections and see if that fixes the problem? Please follow the steps for each social network on each page for this process.
NOTE: Please ensure you follow the step (if indicated) to delete the app association on each social network to fully disable the existing application token prior to reconnecting from your Dashboard.

Thanks for trying to help. That worked for new posts, they’re now being publicized on Facebook. But what about those 20 or so previous posts that didn’t show up on my Facebook page, how do I publicize them on Facebook alone (Twitter, LinkedIn and Tumblr has worked for those posts) now?

For those older posts, you need manually share them by using the Facebook share button that’s located at the end of each post.

I’ve tried that for a couple of days but I only get “Sorry, this feature isn’t available right now: An error occurred while processing this request. Please try again later.”

Many thanks for providing that error message.
I am unable to replicate this message, and was able to share the post successfully.
Can you tell me what browser you’re using, along with any adblockers that may be in place specifically please? The reason being is that when we last saw this, there was a block in place.
Also, just to note, it looks like the theme is retired: https://wordpress.com/theme/manifest/ which means this could also be a cause.

Well, I use Firefox and had privacy settings set to Strict and use four different Ad-blockers. But, disabling all four didn’t change anything. Setting privacy to Standard didn’t change anything – and I also noticed that I had set wordpress.com as an exception to the privacy rules (this I’m pretty certain was what made it work two years ago when I had this kind of problem).
Finally I used Chrome, and disabled every security setting I could find but still I get that same error. Weird.
I really really like that theme and would hate to have to change it. If I were to change it temporarily, will I be able to go back to it afterwards?

I found a workaround: When that little window with the error message appearad, I then get an Okey box to click. After clicking it I used that same little window to switch profile in Facebook, and I switched to the profile which actually is my page (which is where I’m trying to post these 20 posts that hadn’t been forwarded to FB. Now, when using Share this: on my WordPress site I obviously don’t the option to share to my page but instead to share to my News feed or to my Story. Choosing News feed, makes it work. And since we’ve solved the problem of new posts not being published on my Facebook page, I can use this workaround for my 20 or so missed posts.

I really really like that theme and would hate to have to change it. If I were to change it temporarily, will I be able to go back to it afterwards?
Not really. The theme is retired so you won’t be able to activate it again. We do, however, encourage you to check out the recent themes. The retired themes are not being actively developed and improved and new features may not always work as expected.
As for resharing the old posts, have you tried manually copying the links to your posts and sharing them on Facebook directly by pasting the links? I understand it might be a bit time-consuming, but it might be the only way in this case.
