Connections to 3rd party sites
-
I changed my Facebook password a few weeks ago. Since then, my posts haven’t been “shared” with the FB page. Most likely it was the password change that caused it. As I couldn’t find a way to edit the connection, I deleted it and re-established it with the new password. The post I wrote tonight uploaded correctly. Is there any way to upload the previous posts that didn’t get posted to FB due to the password issue?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there,
Is there any way to upload the previous posts that didn’t get posted to FB due to the password issue?
Only posts published after the publicize connection is made are shared, so there is no way to retroactively send a post that was published before that connection. Since it was only one post that was not publicized during this period, the simplest solution is to manually share the post in your social networks.

Thanks for the reply. It makes sense and I suspected as much. I just didn’t want to go to the trouble of re-posting them all until I knew for sure. I don’t believe I mentioned that it was only one post. I wish it was! There’s probably at least a dozen of more. Maybe I’ll just let it go. BUT!!! I’ll remember to change the password here next time I change the password in Facebook.
So, is it necessary to delete the original connection and re-establish a new connection with the new password? It seems there should be a device for that considering that passwords should be changed frequently.

Ah, well then that was my misunderstanding, so sorry about that. Unfortunately, publicize connections are (and this is a simplification) a lot like RSS feeds… they pick up new posts as they are published, but there is no way to add already published posts to an RSS feed.

It is a good idea to reset them by deleting the existing connection, and re-authorizing it before your next post goes out. I would do this just to be safe, any time you change your account details with you social media services.
