Consent Management Platform plugins

  Hello,
  I’m looking for a reputable, easy to use and install CMP for our WordPress site (which also uses Elementor) to handle cookie consent optins/out. Can anyone recommend one and/or offer help to install?

  Hi –

  Sure thing. What is your site URL? That will help us determine which version of WordPress is in use.

  There’s 2 options.
  1. WordPress.org, the open source software that you use with a separate hosting provider.
  2. WordPress.com, a managed hosting and inclusive environment (here).

  WordPress.com has a standard widget that can be added by clicking on My Sites – Design – Customize – Widgets

  Since y’all are using a hosting provider other than us at WordPress.com that means you are set up with WordPress.org software. Help for that will come from https://wordpress.org/support/forums/

  Y’all will want to use a plugin to add that widget to your site. There’s a list here that you can look at: https://wordpress.org/plugins/search/cookie+consent/

  My suggestion would be to install the Jetpack plugin, though. It includes a cookie + consent widget, plus it’s our product and I know that you’ll be able to get help when you need it.

  Hi,
  It turns out we already have Jetpack installed and are using their cookie pop up – but it is not a full cookie consent pop up (see ICO.org.uk – for the type of pop up for what I’m talking about). Do you know if Jetpack offers different types of pop ups or just the basic one? And the actual consent management on the backend – where names are stored/removed cookie tracking etc. Does Jetpack manage this?
  Any further guidance would be appreciated.

  Hi Diane,

  There are no other cookie consent pop-up types on Jetpack. You’ll have to use another plugin with more customization options.
