Considering self hosting and using guided transfer

  I’m considering self hosting my blog. I am thinking of blue host and using guided transfer.
  Do I need to register my domain http://bizzimummy.com on bluehost and somehow unlock it from wordpress myself? Or will the guided transfer people take care of this for me.
  As you can see I have no idea how it works.
  I have heard some people lose all their photographs, followers and stats too when going self hosted. I don’t want this to happen. How true is this?

  The guided transfer moves your domain too.

  Of course you will lose your stats: your new site is a new site. But many stat counters allow you to start at an arbitrary number.

  You should not lose your photos. TO keep followers, post in the WP.com forums after installing jetpack, asking staff to transfer your followers, and tag the thread “modlook”.

  So just to be sure. If I first register at bluehost to transfer the domain and then pay for guided transfer to do it for me? Is that correct

  You register for hosting at Bluehost and then you buy the guided transfer and they take care of it from there.
