Consolidate two WordPress accounts to one account

    I have two WordPress accounts with different usernames and emails. For example:
    Account A -> usernameA, emailA
    Account B -> usernameB, emailB

    I created one of the accounts long ago and didn’t realize this until recently (I still have access to the hold account). However, I would like to just have one account. So what I’m trying to do is something like the following:
    Account -> usernameA, emailB

    I want to keep the username from the old account but use my email address from my new account. Unfortunately, when I try to update the email of the old account, I can’t an error since the email is already taken by my new account. Any ideas on how to consolidate these two accounts into one?

    It is possible to consolidate your WordPress accounts into one. It takes a little bit of work, but in the end you should be able to accomplish what you want to do.

    1) Each email address is a unique identifier for all users. So if you try to run two WordPress accounts off the same email- it will not work. If you changed emailB on AccountB to emailC, that will free up emailB to be utilized by another account. This does not necessarily “consolidate” your two accounts, but it allows you to accomplish having Account-> usernameA, emailB.

    For more information regarding this topic, please refer to this support document:
    http://en.support.wordpress.com/email-address/

    2) In order to actually combine your two WordPress accounts, you will have to transfer the blog. To do this: (this is assuming you want UsernameA, emailB scenario) On AccountB, you will go to Dashboard -> My Blogs. On the My Blogs screen, you want to select the text ‘Transfer Blog’ that appears under the blog address. After you have selected this, you will have to click through a warning- the warning will state that the transferring of a blog can not be undone, and include what this exactly entails. After you have read and confirmed, you will then enter the username or email address you would like to transfer that blog to. You will receive a confirmation email to the email address that you specified and the transfer will not occur until you have read the email and followed the link included.

    For a more detailed explanation on this process, please refer to the following documentation:
