Constant Errors Trashing Posts/Emptying Trash

I’m trying to bulk-delete posts, but WP is fighting me every step of the way. Dashboard –> Posts, I select all posts on the page, then Bulk Actions –> Move to Trash, then [Apply]. After a long or short grind, I get one of two new pages: either ‘Whoops! Something has gone wrong with our servers, and we’ve just been notified of the problem. This will be fixed as soon as possible, so kindly reload in a minute and things should be back to normal’, or ‘Error in moving to trash’. Use the browser’s back button to return to the previous page: all the same posts are listed. Reload the page: some (but not all) of the posts are deleted.

This will be fixed as soon as possible, so kindly reload in a minute and things should be back to normal.’ Hit the browser’s Back button, reload the page, and the post count in the trash is perhaps 10 less than before (even though we’re displaying 100 posts per page). Hit ‘Delete permanently’ on an individual trash item, and after a bit of a grind it goes away and the trash count decreases by 1.
I gave it a rest since yesterday and tried again today with no change. There are still over 6,500 posts I want to remove from my blog; I cannot go through and delete them one by one. Help, please? Thanks kindly.

Hi there, with that many posts to delete, you can certainly ask for assistance from Support to empty your site.

Do you want to delete all the contents of your site (posts, comments, pages, and media files) or only remove your posts?

Hiya, fstat; thanks for the quick reply. I want to empty my site completely (all posts, comments, files, etc) and then repopulate it. I’m migrating content from Google+, and while this past import of that content mostly worked, there’s been an update of G+ Exporter to do a better, more complete job with less left behind, so I’m trying for a do-over.
