constant problems with the new editor
-
This is a service that I’m paying for. I’m not simply using the free features.
I’m a pretty laid back guy, and I’ve been using wordpress.com for years. In all that time, I have rarely asked for help, even from the forums, and I’ve never contacted support. I tried to do that just now and I’m informed that support is CLOSED through October 21. That’s just… insane.
It creates a new level of frustration for me, on top of the problems I’ve been having, because this is a service I’m paying for, and all I want it to do is work correctly. When I posted in these forums previously (a few weeks ago), I got the equivalent of “turn your computer off then back on” replies, then, finally, a half-assed “I’ll submit a ticket” response from staff. No response since.
This isn’t the way to treat your customers, guys. And I’ve been a loyal customer… for a very long time.
I really need to speak to someone on staff, and I don’t think that’s too much to ask, especially since I’ve tried the forum route.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

There also has not been an update on the bug report thread here https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/slow-server-page-parents?replies=10#post-2473587
-
I mean no offense, but your response is not helpful in the least. Please don’t clutter up this thread with your cut-and-paste responses, when you aren’t even addressing the issue.
I need someone who will listen, not someone who will assume they know the problem before I talk about it.
-
Let me repeat: this is a service I’m paying for. It’s not asking too much to get a response from the staff. And it’s not asking too much to get a response from staff where they do more than “file a bug report”, then I never hear from them again.
Another issue came up today, that I haven’t even addressed here yet. Issues keep popping up. And it’s obviously because wordpress fixed something that wasn’t broke to begin with, and then didn’t test it enough… and then (as even a casual perusal of the forums will attest to) ignored their customers’ problems with it.
-
I mean offense either but I have read every one of your threads https://en.forums.wordpress.com/profile/lovecraftezine and the bottom line is the bottom line. As you noted Staff are away until October 21st http://support.wordpress.com/contact/ and it’s probably unrealistic to expect any bug report results previous to that.
-
In other words, the bottom line is that they are running a company where the staff is gone for weeks. If you actually think that’s good customer service, you’re kidding yourself.
If I was not paying for this, that would be one thing. I could wait. But I am paying for this.
Time to look into other blogging options.
-
I’m trying to think of a nice way to say that I don’t want your help, timethief. You’re not a good listener. I’d like to hear from staff. Failing that, it would be great to hear from someone who would actually listen to what the problems are, instead of assuming they are the same (and only) problems I’m having since I last posted.
-
The thread was tagged for Staff by yourself so when they work their way forward to it they will use whatever information you post to help you resolve your new issues.
As soon as you list exactly what your “new” issues are, we Volunteers may be able to respond to them while you are waiting for a Staff response.
-
ARE there any other volunteers? My last two issues, only you have replied. And I’d rather hear from someone else. You seem to be more concerned with giving quick unnecessary responses that don’t really address the issues.
It’s why I haven’t even posted the latest problem here. Because I don’t want whatever your response would be to it.
-
If I have a problem with my bank, there’s someone there I can talk to. If I have a problem with my insurance, there’s someone there I can talk to. If I have a problem with just about anything I’m paying for, there is someone who will help.
But not wordpress, apparently.
-
Logic suggests that if you do not provide relevant details about what your “new” issues are, then the likelihood that any other Volunteer will respond to this thread is extremely low.
Logic also suggests that if you If you do not provide relevant details about what you “new” issues are then when Staff work their way forward to this thread there will be nothing to work with so they will request the details you have yet to provide.
Best wishes to you. I’m off to enjoy my Canadian Thanksgiving weekend.
-
Since no other volunteer answered the last post, and the one staff member that did answer didn’t help, I’d say your logic is faulty.
-
I’m sorry to hear that you are having trouble and feeling frustrated at the responses you are seeing (or not seeing).
We are a completely distributed company, meaning we work all across the globe. One week a year, we get together as a company. During that week, yes, support responses are slower than normal. If that is unacceptable, I would encourage you to look into setting up a self-hosted WordPress.org site with a WordPress developer or hosting company that offers the kind of support structure that you are looking for.
Regarding this bug report: https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/slow-server-page-parents?replies=10
…I’m afraid that I have no further updates on the issue. It is a known bug. It has been reported. I cannot give you a timeline on when it will be fixed. The workaround is to use the old Dashboard editor when editing pages. Imperfect, especially since the edit button on individual pages goes to the new editor. But at the moment, there is no other solution.
