  I want to know if I could build the type of website and have the features I need before committing to wordpress. The website is to make custom personalized planners. The customer would be building from a set of themes and customizable features which would then be turned into PDF files for me to print on the backend and ship out.

  I don’t have a site with WordPress.com yet

  Hello there,

  It may be possible withe the use of some plugins, but the plugin selection would need to be very specific.

  What parts of the personal planners would be customiseable?

  I would have a theme option, for example a day planner page where they would be able to change the look of the heading, add colour backgrounds, change fonts, add their own text if they want.
