Consumer Accounts
-
I am building a Music Distribution Website. We take Songs from Artists and Labels and distribute them to retailers such as Spotify and Apple Music. I will need to allow my customers to have an account. They will also need o be able to upload large files and images for our administrators to access. Is there any documentation available on how to accomplish this?

We don’t have specific documentation for building a site like this at WordPress.com. A few points below worth considering as you look to building this site.
1. Many of the features you will want are not default features in WordPress, so you will ultimately rely on your own research around custom WordPress themes and plugins to create the look and add the functionality you need to make this work.
Here are the main WordPress repositories for themes and plugins:
– Themes: https://wordpress.org/themes/
– Plugins: https://wordpress.org/plugins/There are also venues for custom 3rd party themes such as ThemeForest and so on.
2. With WordPress.com you can upload custom WordPress themes and plugins as long as your site is on the Business plan. Take a look here to gain an understanding of what the Business plan offers and costs: https://wordpress.com/pricing/
3. Most of the functionality you need will need, such as a members/customers area, and giving them the ability to upload files, will come from your own research into custom WordPress plugins. That research starts with searching the plugin repository (linked above) and searching within search engines.
