Hello!
We are need of help and need to contact wordpress. IS there an email, chat option or support telephone we can try?
Thank you!

Hi There,
WordPress.com does not have a call center so there is no phone number to call. Here is a link from the support pages with the different help options available to you.
If you want help here on the forums we will need more information about what is happening or what you are trying to accomplish.
Hope that helps.

Hello!
I will explain the situation in more detail. We have contacted the owner of the domain (currently parked) and they agreed to let the domain go/make it available so that we can repurchase it. However, it has been parked since october. The other party also informed us today that a word press associate told them it would be available for purchase within 48 hours however it is still parked.
Why would this be and is there anyway to fix this?
Thank you!
Joe

I’ve never seen support say a domain would be released in a certain amount of time, and I don’t believe they can do that but I may be wrong. I’m not even sure how you’d contact the owner of a parked domain, since that means the domain was cancelled and they no longer own it.
What I would expect is that the domain name would need to be restored to the owner’s account and then transferred to you.
Are you able to post the domain name so that we understand? You can tag posts with modlook to get support from staff. Getting Help in the Forums

I have no idea. However, we contacted them before they did anything with the domain (before the domain was parked) meaning we reached out and asked to retrieve the domain as this our brand and is now trademarked.
They said that they contacted WordPress to release the domain. I’m not an expert in this area, so I could be wrong but I figured it would just be released and available for purchase? Although it has been parked since they did this.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

It sounds like they basically just cancelled the domain name. That removed the domain from their ownership, but doesn’t release it to own again. Domains don’t release when they’re cancelled, but instead would need to wait until expiration.
It seems like you don’t want to post the domain or brand name here, so let’s tag this for staff and maybe they can reach out privately?

Hi there,
When a domain is released depends on both the type of the domain and when it its lifecycle it was cancelled. It can be a few days in some cases, but it can also be more than a year in others. Cancelling a domain does not release it, though – it merely gives up ownership of the domain and there’s no guarantee a cancelled domain will ever become available again. If the last owner of the domain wanted you to have it the proper process would have been for them to transfer ownership to you rather than cancelling it.
The process controlling when a cancelled domain is released is completely automated, and we have no way of manually releasing a domain on request, so if the domain is currently going to a page saying it’s parked with us, the only way for you to gain control over that domain is if the previous owner were to contact us to request that we restore it to their account. Then they’ll be able to transfer ownership to you should they choose to.
