Contact form

How many fields can a contact form contain?

I need to insert a booking form for a tennis tournament, and I need around 20 fields. Do you have a clue for me :-)?

    Thanks very much in advance!

    Hi there,

There shouldn’t be any limits to how many fields a contact form can have. :) However, sometimes with long contact forms you can run into an issue where it looks like it won’t let you add any more fields. If you see that, you can insert the form into your post or page and then click the “Add Contact Form” to go back to editing it — that will allow you to add more fields to the form.

Alternately, you can construct the form using the contact form shortcode without running into limits: Contact Form

Please let me know if you have any questions about that. :)

Great, it works, thanks very much!

I didn’t imagine that I could come back so easily to the contact form after leaving it…

    Best regards,

    So kind of you, thanks!

Yes, another question: on the Spectrum Template, is there any possibility to cancel the Tags cloud below? Since I will have a very little amount of tags, it’s not really necessary!

    Thanks in advance!

    Hi Anne-Elisabeth,

Sure thing! You can remove the tag cloud by going to Appearance > Theme Options (Apparence > Options du thème) in your site’s dashboard. There, you can check the box next to “Tag cloud” (Nuage de tags) to remove it.

Please let me know if you have any other questions! :)

Great, you’re great, dear Rachel, thanks again! It works ;-)!

Yes, indeed, I have another question :-), linked to the medias, this time. For my http://updetheux.wordpress.com blog, yesterday, I prepared a slideshow of +/- 20 pictures. Which couldn’t be seen :-( (the message I got was “You need Java Script”, which I obviously have since I could see another slideshow, smaller. I thus had to divide the pictures in 4 groups and to prepare 4 galleries, so that all pictures could be seen!

How can I know if my gallery / slideshow will be OK? Is it a question of weight of pictures? of number?

Thanks for your very appreciated continued help!

    Anne-Elisabeth :-)

    Hi Anne-Elisabeth,

The message “You need Javascript” displays on your screen if you don’t have Javascript enabled in your browser (which means the slideshow won’t work). However, it’s possible that you saw that message because it was taking a bit longer than usual for the slideshow to load on the page. That can happen if there are more images in the slideshow, since it will slow things down a bit. Breaking up the slideshow into smaller groups will make each slideshow load faster, so you avoid seeing the message.

If you use a longer slideshow, that message “You need Javascript” should go away once the slideshow finishes loading. However, if you run into trouble with it again and the message doesn’t go away, please let me know so I can take a closer look at it.

OK, dear Rachel, I will test another time and tell you if the message doesn’t disappear.

But I’ll try to use shorter slideshows, in order to avoid problems!

    Thanks very much!

    Anne-Elisabeth
