Contact Form 7
-
Ok I am new to word press but trying to figure out the contact form 7 to add. I downloaded and went to my manage tab and it wasn’t there for the plug in directory. Am I missing something?

Yes, you are. If you are hosted here at wordpress.COM, then you cannot use plugins. However, the contact form is available here – search the FAQ.
If you are self-hosted, you are in the wrong forum.
Also, please consider linking your blog to your username. https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/how-to-make-your-name-link-to-your-blog?replies=54 That way, we can more easily help you.

thanks vivian! I updated my profile for future reference. Word Press is more complicated than I thought. I have the basic contact form on my page but I wanted the one where you can add name, address, comments, etc. rather than a generic comment block. I wish there was a way to change that…

The wordpress contact form, when you are logged out, shows name, email address, and website fields for people to fill in.
When you are logged in, wordpress knows who you are and so it doesn’t show those fields and will fill them in automatically. To test this, simply log out and visit the page.

that works! thanks for your help! I am sure that you will see more from me as I am still trying to figure this all out…

I found out about the contact form b/c someone asked a forum question and now I got an answer to a question about it that I didn’t even know I had. How cool is that? Thank you very much.

Ah, I see the quality of the forum is reaching a new high: “Answering your questions before you even knew you had them” – could be an advertising slogan!

Yes of course! And we’ve had a couple of quite enjoyable evenings together in the past (in the forum, I mean, don’t get me wrong)!
Now have a look at this, please (the guy is the only one left with no replies):

He’s got bad image captions; I can see his source-code is strange, but don’t know what might have caused it. -
I haven’t even messed with captions at all so I’ll likely be of little help.
I had checked W3C validation, and it is a perfect page – no warnings or errors.

Since I haven’t had any major WP problems lately (except for obsessing over my ‘freeze’ blog stats), you must miss me (on the forum), panaghiotisadam : ) Seriously, the forum is a wonderful resource so feel free to use my testimonial!

Hi was able to successfully add Contact Form to my WordPress. Is there anyway to reduce the size of the description field ??
