Contact Form 7 Dynamic version to allow different recipients for contact forms?
-
For WordPress.com (and Theme TwentyTwelve) can my web site offer 2 different hyperlinks to a different Contact Form where each filled in form goes to a different e-mail recipient?
My understanding is that Contact Form 7 Dynamic Version enables this but I don’t think it’s available for WordPress.com. Is this available for a WordPress hosted site. Thank you.The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi,
Contact Form 7 is not available for WordPress.com, I believe.
WordPress.com’s default contact form does not have that feature as well. Here’s what the documentation says about recipient address:
When a user submits your contact form, it will be emailed to the author of the post/page (to the email address that they have on file for their WordPress.com account here), and the subject line will be the title of your post
So, first, yes, it is possible to have more than one contact forms.
Next, if you want the contact forms to have different recipient address, then you will need to use (or create) a different author to create the form. This author need to use the email address you want to receive the submissions.

Forgot the link to the Contact Form help page. Here goes:
-
All the contact forms I have made have been by the Admin of my site – but on a test site I just changed the email address and had it sent to another person and I did not get a copy
when setting up the contact form there is an option (email Notifications) (tab) that you click on and fill out a different person to receive the contact form – I as the Author of the form and Admin of the site did not receive a copy
You can also send the contact form to more than one person – when I have someone else that should be taking care of the contacts I will usually have a copy sent to me so I can double check to make sure they are not skipping their job

Thank you both for your explanations.
I had read through some of the documentation you shared with me and I appreciate your clarifications of those documents.
I have been able to add several e-mail addresses to the document form so I see how that works.
Right now I am the only “author” on this web site. However it is being built for a civic association and I wish to create a hyperlink to the contact page for each and every officer so that one and only one of us gets the contact message when it is directed to that person. And I find that if I change the e-mail address on “e-mail notifications” tab, for one person and then change it again for another person – the “e-mail notifications” tab is unable to be different for each hyperlink.
Is there a way to do that? Eventually each board member will become an “author” on the web site and will enter their e-mail address to do that. At that point in time will we be able to have distinct hyperlinks to the contact form in order that we can have a contact form “comments” directed back to the correct person?
If not – what level of user does one have to be to qualify for Contact Form -7?
Thanks very much,
Evelyn -
Make a new Page – Contact Us – or something like that
Make a NEW Page for each person you need to have the ability for visitors to contact – put a new Contact Form on the Page and put in the correct email address –
THEN – make the individual Page for a person a Child Page of the Contact Us Page – that will give you a drop down menu like thing with each person being listed with their own page – you can also customize the individual persons page – Title / Duties etc. what ever will make it easy for a person to decide if they are contacting the right person.
Depending on what else you are doing & the Theme on your site – you might need a Custom Menu
-
Thank you, I’ll try that.
I do use custom menus, I think, with the front page a fixed page like a web site not a blog. (if that’s relevant to what we’re talking about :) )
I have not used child pages but using the “menu” there is an easy way to “indent” other pages that drop down in a way that I think you are describing.
I hope this is equivalent to how a child page works. otherwise I’ll hit the instructions for using child page once again on wordpress…….
Right now all the officers are listed on one page and I’m the only one that has my name set as a hyperlink to a contact page. Thanks, again!

Hi Evelyn,
I just found out that it’s possible to change the recipient address easily for any contact form:
http://en.support.wordpress.com/contact-form/#notification-preferences
If you wish, you can change both the recipient and the email subject of your emails by clicking the “Email notifications” tab. Separate recipient emails with a comma to send to multiple recipients. You can also change the email address and subject using the shortcode (see below).
Check that out!

Thank you!
I have succeeded unchanging the recipient.
The trouble iI’ve had is maintaining the change for each different participant if they are all listed on the same page.auxclass referred me to the custom links on the left side of the “menu” page (I’m using twenty twelve FWIW). and I am hoping that by using a different link for each person’s name that I can customize the recipient differently for each one :)
Thanks for your help!

Thank you auxclass!!!!!!!!!!!!
For your expert suggestion. It worked and it’s so simple.
Who knew?
It took me 3 days to understand but in the end it was so straightforward and easy to do.
I’ve only been at this a few weeks and it’s been a challenge to become comfortable with what seems complex but is actually a remarkably functional and easy to use system for setting up a web site.
Your help is much appreciated!!!

You be welcome & glad I could help
Learning WordPress.COM is like anything new, takes a bit of time and reading the instructions.
The good news is that WordPress.COM is easy to use, the bad news is that WordPress.COM so many people skip reading the instructions
Good luck

auxclass,
when you have time, I’d appreciate an answer for this problem.
on firstmontrose.wordpress.com I’ve been experimenting with a page that is not static for use as a blog. It is so much fun! And I think this brings life to the web site. I decided to rename the blog from “Hot News” to “FMC Live!” I now have a page for both. Since the old page “Hot News” has all the changes that I wanted so far, I would prefer to just change the “title” of the page on the custom menu. But that didn’t work, so far. Is there a way to do that or to transfer the info from “hot news” to “FMC Live” without having to reconstruct the page info? Thanks, in advance. I so appreciate the help you have given me :)
