contact form
-
I added a contact form but it appears right at the top of my page. I’d rather have it at the bottom and it also shows my information in the spaces. Shouldn’t that be blank? I want to delete the contact form because it doesn’t look good and I don’t know how to delete it.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Your contact form appears on your About page. You can, of course, enter as much text as you wish to above it.
WordPress.com uses cookies to keep track of commenters so if someone makes a comment on your blog, the next time they come to your blog, unless they have cleared their cookies, WordPress.com will recognize them and complete the details for them. No one else will be able to view those details in comment boxes or in contact forms. The next person who comments will see blank fields. Commenters will not see each others details.
Your information can only be seen by your because you have not logged out and cleared your browser cache and cookies and visited the site like any reader would without logging in. http://www.google.com/support/accounts/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=32050
The same is also true of auto-filled content in comment boxes. And, while we are at it the same can be said about the Admin [edit] link. It’s only for your convenience and only you can see it and use it while you are logged in.

The text I had previously entered appears below the contact form. How can I get the contact form to appear below the text? Ok. I understand now why I am seeing my name.

Also as you have a contact form you don’t need a comment box on that page so disable it.
You can enable and disable comments on free hosted WordPress.com blogs on this page > Settings > Discussion
Discussion settings is where you set up defaults for comments.
http://en.support.wordpress.com/settings/discussion-settings/You can also override the default settings and enable or disable future comments on any individual post or page.
http://en.support.wordpress.com/enable-disable-comments/Note: By default, new blogs on WordPress.com will have the Discussion hidden. You can reveal it by clicking on Screen Options http://en.support.wordpress.com/screen-options/ on the top right corner of your Admin page, and checking the box that says Discussion so the module is included. http://en.support.wordpress.com/modules/#list-of-modules

Ok. I got the text pasted above the form. Now I don’t know what I’m doing wrong. I can get the comment box to disappear. I’ve unchecked the box in the Discussion settings. I’ve saved my changes and it’s still there.

Go to > Dashboard > Pages > All Pages
hover over the About page title link and click “Edit”
http://en.support.wordpress.com/pages/edit-pages-screen/#quick-edit
Remove the “allow comment’s” and “allow ping back” check-marks and click “Update” in the Publish module. -
When I go to Dashboard>Pages>All Pages and click on Edit, I don’t see anything that says “allow comments” and “allow ping back”.

I can just go back to the way it was before I added the contact form but, the problem is, now I don’t remember how to get rid of the contact form and just leave the comment box.

Edit the Page and delete the contact form code and then click “update” in the Publish module.

Ok. I did it. That should work for now. This is all new to me. So I’ll see where it takes me. Thanks so much for all your help.

That’s good news. I recommend using the step by step tutorial learn WordPress.com blogging that Staff have liked to the bottom of your Admin page at http://learn.wordpress.com
Also note that all support documentation is at this link http://en.support.wordpress.com which you will also find linked to on the bottom of your Admin page. -
I will definitely check out those resources. I was just in a hurry to get something up and running. Thanks again.

Many bloggers come here with an artificial sense of urgency and dive head first which means they make all kinds of errors and end up here asking for help. I sincerely believe that using the tutorial Staff provide is the way to go. Best wishes with your blog.

I’m trying to learn this but I am confused about something else now. I would like my posts to appear all on the same page. I created another post but when I preview it, it is in a separate page. How do I get my 2nd post to appear on the same page as the first? I know that the newest post should appear at the top.
