“contact-form” and spam
-
I don´t know what to do. I got spam from my “contact-form” for two or three weeks now. That very, yes very nice email-thing you have for us wordpress.com-bloggers. Ok, there is not so many, but some every day. It´s from .ru and .info-sites.
Is there any help?/Baron von Örebro

I don’t think that the emails sent through the form are passed through the spam filters Baron. You could confirm this with an email to support @ wordpress.com, but until then I hope you have a spam filter on your email! ;)

Dear Trent!
Thank you for your fast respond.
And, Yep, I have that (spam filter from Gmail and Mac-Mail) and it works fine. But anyway. I don´t receive spam from others, just from my “contact-form” on WordPress. I´m lucky so far. It looks like this, the spam:[spam removed – Mark]

Contact form messages go through Akismet.
If Akismet has not yet learnt though then a spam could get through. -
Mark,
In the “Comment Blacklist” section, it states:
“When a comment contains any of these words in its content, name, URL, e-mail, or IP, it will be marked as spam. One word or IP per line. It will match inside words, so “press” will match “WordPress”.”
I have a half dozen ISP locations that post porn sites to my comments. Akismet catches hundreds of them (Thanks for that!). But the admonition above concerns me. If I blacklist – on one line, cee.mit.edu, does that mean ANY ISP with .edu in the domain name will be blacklisted?
Hope this is clear… Thanks.

Mark,
Forgive me — I forgot to mention that although Aksimet catches most of the porn comments — several a day still make it through and are posted to the comment section on my blog.
I want to blacklist as many as possible — which will probably be a lifetime job.
Thanks, ExPreacerMan (Jack)
