Contact Form – Email Required?
-
I have two main questions:
1. Is the email field necessary for users to send messages? For example, if someone sent a message without filling out their email, would it still work?
2. When a message is sent, can the sender see your email (the email the messages are being sent to, by default the one associated with your account)?

Hi there,
1. Not strictly, no. However, since email addresses are the way that WordPress.com verifies registered users, and also spam control, consider keeping the email address as a required field.
2. The sender won’t see your email address unless you respond to their message from the email address the message was sent to. You can also set up the contact form to send to a different email address than your WPcom account email.
