Contact form “email required” message
-
Hi!
I created a contact form on my blog, but I’ve noticed that some blog contact forms had “email required” next to the email box, and some had “email required-email will not be revealed/given out”, and some seemed to have no email box at all. I don’t really require the sender’s email, and don’t want to scare away potential letters (my blog is an advice column). Is there a way for me to manage this?
I’m not sure if this goes into the “question” section, or “support”, but most threads seem to be under support. Sorry if it is the inappropriate section.
Many thanks!

Thank you. Some themes have a page template for contact — Mistylook does — and their appearance varies by theme author.
Yours does not. All you can do is add more text to your Ask page. The standard contact form, which you’re using, does not require anyone to give an email addy. All they do is enter text and press the button.

Oki dokes. I just logged out and tried to send a message while leaving the email area blank, and it gave me the “email required” error. I added some text to the Ask page stating that fake email addresses are acceptable, ha.
Thanks again!
