Contact form "from" email is (email visible only to moderators and staff) instead of senders email

  Hi,

  every contact I receive through the new contact form is sent from “(email visible only to moderators and staff)”, but it does show the senders email address.

  This results in me or my coworkers responding to clients incorrectly (by hitting reply in our inbox, where the notification is sent to), but sending it to (email visible only to moderators and staff).

  This is confusing – showing the senders name, but then substituting his email address with a different one? Can I make the email notifications use the actual senders email address?

  Hi Lukas!

  Can you let me know what email client you’re using? I tested this out in Gmail. When I click reply to the contact email from (email visible only to moderators and staff), the “To” field is automatically populated with the intended recipient’s email address.

  Hi Jeremy,

  thanks for a quick response. You’re right, I just tested it as a logged in WP user, or not logged in and it did work. I’m using Gmail too.

  I looked back to the instances when it didn’t work, and Gmail substitutes the name and address of a different person with (email visible only to moderators and staff) and a different name. But only in a few instances.

  So it seems to be a mix up at Gmail side, not your side, strange one!

  I guess there’s not much else for you, thanks for verifying.

  I’ll keep tracking this, maybe I’ll see a pattern should it keep hapenning more.

  I thought it was every contact but it happened to be only the one, I responded to (work in a team using the same email address). I thought my colleagues were replacing the email manually, but it must have worked fine for them….
