contact form inside a scroll box
-
Hello,
I was wondering if it’s possible to put a contact form inside a scroll box.
I have an order form on my website and it’s kind of long so it makes my page look long too.
Trying to fix that by putting it in a scroll box.
Please let me know if this is possible, and if so, how do I do it!?
Thanks again

But there’s no real point doing that: what difference does it make if a visitor has to use the scrollbar of the browser window or the scrollbar of a scrollbox inside that window?

Since the form is long, my suggestion would be to put it in a page instead. People dislike multiple scrollbars on a site as it is very easy for (at least some) people to get confused by them.

I wanna do it because it makes my page long and theres a lot of negative space due to the sidebar. Yeah I know what you mean, sometimes the site gets a little jerky when theres multiple scrolls but I’ve been using a pad and a mobil device on my site and its pretty cool so I’m gunna go with that. @timethief : I tried that but it didn’t work. Any other suggestions?

I don’t know why that didn’t work for you. Though the post is aimed at widgets I have used scrollbars on pages previously and they worked for me. Perhaps the code is now deprecated.

What exactly did you try? You’ve got to switch the editor to HTML and use this:
<div style="overflow:auto;height:150px;"> COMPLETE CONTACT FORM SHORTCODE HERE </div>Change the number to adjust the height.

Hmmm I did everything you said panaghiotisadam. Ther box is there but the content doesn’t show up for some reason. I’ve used the scrollbox before so I know I’m doing it right..

Sorry, wasn’t standing by. Just dropped by again now, can’t say if and what was wrong now that you have removed the code.

It’s alright. I put it at the bottom of the page so you can see what I mean.

That’s just an empty div with a bunch of useless tags for bold text inside it.
Did you add your contact form as shown in the relevant Support doc?
http://en.support.wordpress.com/contact-form/If so, the code in your HTML editor should be:
<div style="overflow:auto;height:700px;"> [contact-form] ETC ETC ETC ETC [/contact-form] </div>Or does your theme provide an alternative for contact forms? (You’re using a premium theme, and we volunteers have no idea how it works.)

panaghiotisadam! I figured out what the problem was… I kept checking if it was working by adding a scroll bar with ANOTHER form but you can only have one per page! Right under my nose the whole time. Thanks again guys I really appreciate your help.
