Contact Form intake format sucks – can I change it?
-
Hey WP,
We have a simple ‘contact form’ on our website. While I think that the ease of use on our clients side is wonderful, the format that we are receiving from the contact form to our email is horrible and basically very hard to read. There is no spacing or any way to tell apart the subjects – it is like one big run on sentence that we receive when someone sends off a contact form.
My question is, is there a way to edit the way that I take in the contact form? Bold letters, indentions, etc?
Also, a web designer friend of ours sent us to a website that embeds a contact form onto a website, but I am finding that wordpress.com does not allow outside embedding, so that won’t work as long as I stay at wordpress.com.
Thanks for any input!

Hi there!
Sorry to hear about the problems you’re having. Can you kindly copy and paste the text here unedited, so I can investigate this? Or taking a screenshot of the email and uploading it to your Media Library would be great too.
As an alternative to our Contact Form, you may want to look into more robust services such as Wufoo and Google Docs.
Looking forward to hearing back from you! Thanks!

Hey druesome, thanks for replying – here is an example of what we are receiving on our end.
“Pet Bio (Please include brief description of breed type, length of ownership, history on anxiety of ANY type, allergies or medications, temperament, and level of training completed): Bleu is a black and tan/treeing walker coon hound. He is almost 2 yrs old, and we have had him since Jan 2013. He has separation anxiety and doesn’t like being left alone and will cry/bark. He has gotten along with all other dogs and people that he has met, he seems to be on the more submissive side. He has completed basic obedience training that we did thru Petsmart.

Boarding Drop off Date/Time & Pick Up Date/Time: Friday June 27th around 10am(?) until Sunday June 29th around 7pm(?)

Basic Instruction (please describe desired/accustomed routine i.e. feeding, walking, crating etc.): He is crated at night and whenever he is left alone at home. He does have a static shock bark collar for when he is left at home alone during the day (which isn’t often) due to non stop barking and separation anxiety. We feed him once a day and he eats it whenever he wants, sometimes all at once, other times he grazes. We don’t have any set schedule of walking or anything. He is house trained and goes to the door to be let out, he knows how to use a dog door at a friends house. He does have to be leashed when outside if not in a fenced area since his nose will lead him away.
Comments: We have the coupon for a free night stay from the smart shopper that we would like to use.

Hey!
The email looks pretty standard for a contact form response. I’m afraid that there is no way to add indentations to it, or a way to format the text. We don’t currently support 123contactform.com, but please check out Wufoo.com as they do have a free subscription model that is quite good. Cheers!
