    Hello,
    I checked my website today and apparently my entire contact form is all blurred out using Firefox and Chrome on both PC and my android cellphone. I need this contact form to be operation since its my main source of contact with all traffic. What happened? I’ve never seen this before and I haven’t made any changes.

    WP.com: Yes
    Jetpack: No
    Correct account: Yes

    The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    I have an update. After going to all my contact forms and seeing they are all blurred out, l left it open and came back and after 5 minutes they become visible again. So what seems to be happening is the page comes up and the form is blurred out. Everything else including pictures and text come up, but only the contact form is blurred out. After sitting for 5 minutes, the contact form will become visible. Really strange.

    Another update. I tested it. I reloaded the order page and the contact form is blurred out. At exactly 2 minutes and 5 seconds the contact from will become visible. It is directly connected to the lower right edit bar which has “Customize, Edit, Stats”. They both pop up and appear at the exact same time at 2 minutes and 5 seconds. I can replicate this each time. This occurs on all contact forms in each different tab, but for starters please see the “Order Page” for the largest contact form.

    Another update. On my android phone the “Order” page contact from and all contact forms on my site remain blurred out indefinitely. I can’t seem to do anything to make it…..

    Okay, as I was typing this the order contact form just popped up clear on my phone, but this time it took about 10 minutes on my cellphone oppose to the exact 2 minutes and 5 seconds on my PC. So weird. What’s going on?

Its gotta be some sort of update either from the web browsers and wordpress needs to update or something like that. Lets keep pressing in, since this is a big one. New business orders for me are blocked out at this point. Bummer. Staff please help us quickly please.

    I contacted support and they suggested a fix, just sharing here for all of you to get your sites back online since it worked for me.

    Go to Customize > Appearance > Additional CSS and add the following text and Save:

    /* unset blur for jetpack form container*/
    .wp-block-jetpack-contact-form-container {
    filter: none !important;
    }

    Hi all!

    We have identified a bug that’s resulting in blurriness in the contact form. Our developers are aware of it and will release a fix as soon as possible.

    Using the following CSS may work as a temporary work around. You can add it in My Site → Appearance → Customize → Additional CSS:

    /* unset blur for jetpack form container | 5948626-zen */
    .wp-block-jetpack-contact-form-container {
        filter: none !important;
    }

    The code can be added to sites that have the WordPress.com Premium plan or higher, or the Custom CSS add-on. For free sites, the issue will be resolved as soon as our developers have fixed the bug.

    Regards

    I really appreciate this and will be standing by. Thank you so much.

    I tested on an iphone 3 or 4 times and it was clear and working yesterday, but on android and PC it is still blurry. Not sure if that info can help. Thank you.

    Hi there!

    A fix is already being issued. We believe it will be fixed on all sites within the next 24-48 hours. :)

    Appreciate your patience in the meantime!

    That is exciting news. Thank you so much.

    Just out of curiosity, what caused this, an update, a new feature added to wordpress that caused a glitch, what?

  • It was indeed an update to the Jetpack features, not to the core WordPress software – that blur’s only supposed to take effect while the page is loading. That’s what it does now, post-fix!

    I didn’t fully understand what you meant about “That’s what it does now, post fix.” Are you staying the contact forms will now always be blurry for a while until the page is fully loaded and this is intentional? Would there be a way to turn that off and go back to how it has always been before, just sharp and clear right away?

    Sorry for the confusion. The fix for this is done but has not been released yet. The fix will be released in Jetpack 11.8.1 which is currently slated to be out later this week.

    As far as “turning it off” that won’t be possible without access to the CSS editor (Premium or higher plans). The effect was put in place to prevent broken form layouts before the page fully loaded all its styles. If you have a Premium or higher plan, you can use the CSS in this comment to override that behavior.

    But, once this fix is out, you shouldn’t see the issue like it is now.

    I hope that clarifies things!

    @spitfire57 just wanted to give you an update that the fix has been released and I don’t see the problem with the form being blurry anymore.

    Let us know if you still have trouble!

    Thank you so much. It seems to be work on my end as well.

    Someone did say that if they have a new phone or haven’t been to my site yet and haven’t accepted cookies, it stays blurred out until they accept cookies. Is there a way to fix that?

  • Hi @spitfire57

    I haven’t been able to duplicate that. If this is still happening, can you let us know what kind of phone they’re using, and where they are generally (in case it’s a GDPR thing, for example?)

    If I use an incognito window, I see a cookies prompt, but I see your form, too.

    Okay great, I will look back into this and contact them with the details you asked. I will let you know if this is still an issue. Thank you.
