contact form is cutting off in sidebar text widget

    Hello,
    Hope someone can help. I have recently created a blog – http://drherbertrappaport.wordpress.com and added a contact form in the sidebar text widget, it looked great until I made some copy/text changes in the body of my page, now the contact form is being cut off.

    Any ideas and help would be appreciated!

    There are various reasons this sort of thing can happen. For instance, you might have pasted directly into the post editor from Word. If you did, this will show you how to do it properly:

    Microsoft Word

    Another thing you can try is to go to your dashboard, look down the left side of the page and click on ‘Settings’ then on ‘Writing’ and on the Writing settings page, check the box that says “WordPress should correct invalidly nested XHTML automatically” then click the ‘Save Changes’ button.

    If these don’t work – and possibly even if they do – I would suggest that you put the contact form on a page and have a link to the page it’s on, in your sidebar instead. This thread plus its replies might help:

    Another thing I would suggest (as a lot of people have anxiety when they see it), is to put a note above or below the contact form telling them that the only people who can see their information is them and anyone who shares their computer.

    Staff need to fix that. This happens on other themes as well, perhaps all of them. I’ll tag this to be moved to the themes forum and hopefully staff will look into it and fix it.

    In the meantime you can correct it by enclosing the comment shortcode in a div with the right width:
    [contact-form] ETC ETC <div style="width:164px;">[contact-field label="Comment" type="textarea" required="true" /]</div> ETC [/contact-form]
