contact form is not empty
-
After setting up a contact form (several times!), when I pull it up the form is already filled WITH MY OWN name, email and blog address. It should be empty! When I tested it, I got an email — but the heading of the email that comes into my inbox carries the same info, even when I tried filling out out and sending the form from a different email address I have.
What am I doing wrong?

It’s filled with your data for your own convenience when you are a logged-in wordpress.com user visiting a wordpress.com user’s contact page: if I visit your contact page while logged-in, it will be filled with my data, not yours.

Is this really so?
You’d think the support pages would make mention of this.
Thank you so much, justpi! This is my 1st attempt and, despite the tutorials and many mnay pages of notes, the building process is slow going. I live in a rural area and have NO ONE to call on for help. Starting from zero. Maybe I’m just too quick to assume I’m messing up.

Is this really so?
yes it really is so – if you visit another site while logged in you will see your contact info on my site for instance if you go to the contact form – also try logging out and trying the form

You’re welcome.
Yes, it’s really so! Here’s the contact page of a fellow forum volunteer:
http://justjennifer.wordpress.com/about/
Visit it and you’ll see your data, not Jen’s. Then log out and visit it again to see what a non-wordpres.com user sees.
