Contact Form Not Working
-
I have just tried to add a contact form (on a page) for my site several times. However, whenever I test this form (just type test, and of course a name and another email address I own) I do not get any emails to my email addy as I should. This is driving me mad! Any help would be much appreciated.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

We can’t help at all without a link to the blog, starting with http. Also, did you check your spam folder on the email? It sometimes goes there.

Hey sorry I seem to have accidentaly started this thread twice, tried to close the other one but to no avail! Anyway, here is the link:

This is the blog, and yes I checked the spam, it isn’t coming to my email addy at all sadly!

Thank you, still got this issue thought. Tried to form as both a post and a page, with and without extra text. Message sends (got several friends to try) but when I check my email, nothing. Don’t know where to begin really! :-(

Here’s the how to >
(1) Create a new static Page
(2) Place the shortcode on it [contact-form]
(3) Publish the Page
(4) Log out of wordpress.com and view the contact page to see what readers see.Is the foregoing process what you have been doing or not?

Have you checked you email spam filter? The contact messages could be in it?
If not then you will need Staff intervention. Here’s the link http://en.support.wordpress.com/contact/ -

Not a problem, thanks for helping. Hopefully it is something really simple. Maybe when I have altered the CSS I have messed something up?

Not particularly on contact forms. I have read several reports in threads on email notifications that ought to be going out from wordpress.com that aren’t being recevied.
-
Ah darn. It is a shame because I love wordpress.com but wouldn’t want to use a form where I do not recieve the messages… that would not be good! Might just give up and use my actual email.

Are you absolutely positive that you did follow the support documentation instructions and did not copy paste [contact-form] but actually typed it in instead?
As a matter of interest the average time to get an answer to a technical support question on any blogging forum is 12 – 13 hours. And getting a backend technical fix can take longer.
So tour idea of posting and email address in the meanwhile makes sense. Be sure to post an unlinked email address image or an encrypted or munged email address so email address harvesting spam bots don’t get it.

Yeah 100%. The form shows up! So it must have worked. Yet alas, typing into it and pressing send LOOKS a-okay, but when you check email (which I also changed just to check)… no go! Which is a shame :-(

Yes. You will have to wait until Staff respond to your support ticket http://en.support.wordpress.com/contact/ and in the meantime post an email address as discussed. I’m off to work.

You’re welcome but do know that I did nothing to “fix” this. Volunteers do not have backend access to blogs and cannot apply technical fixes, only Staff can. ;)

I know you didn’t but I appreciate the help anyway!
I now know the problem I think… it is the IP address! The form won’t accept messages from the same I.P addy as the signed in blog owner. For example, you cannot sent a test message to yourself. Likewise, my father’s test message on his laptop didn’t work because we are all on the same wireless network. Phoned my gf and some online friends and got them to try, and it worked no problem! Unless the one word “test” messages were too short and therefore considered spam? The new tests were full sentences.
