contact-info-functions.php / Error by Themes Radcliff 2
-
Hi
I used the Themes Radcliff 2 in a wordpress site outside from wordpress.com.
In this hosting, I increased the PHP version from 7.4 to 8.0 and then ran some normal updates (plugins). Now the website is throwing up this error message:Warning: Undefined array key “address” in /home/httpd/vhosts/exampledomain.ch/httpdocs/wp-content/themes/radcliffe-2-wpcom/contact-info/contact-info-functions.php on line 8
How can this error be fixed?
Thank you very much in advance. The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hey there,
Thanks for reaching out.
Was the site originally hosted with WordPress.com?
It looks like greinaalta.ch is not hosted with WordPress.com, so our support is limited to a degree, but we’ll do our best.
Does this happen when switching the php version back down to what is was originally?
Many thanks.

Hi aleone89
Many thanks for your answer.
Yes, orginally was this site hosted with WordPress.com.
I build a complete new WordPress side by a webhoster and/but I used the same Themes from WordPress.com. This worked until the PHP version upgrade.
Yes, when I downgrading the PHP-Version to 7.4 (from 8.0), the error is gone (see now).
I have also contacted the developer of this theme, who unfortunately cannot give support for his theme outside of WordPress.com.
What can you recommend me (the PHP version 7.4, can not be a final solution)?
The “Radcliff” theme (not Radcliff 2) unfortunately does not have the feature set as Radcliff 2 and there is no Pro version of it (which I could buy).
Thanks for your recommendation. -
Hi there,
Because this is an older theme for us that was launched in 2017, and it’s not likely to be updated to offer PHP 8 support. Currenty our themes team (and most other 3rd party theme developers) arec focused on creating newer themes that are compatible with the block-based site editor instead. You can see there are quite a few available to download for your self-hosted site here: https://wordpress.org/themes/tags/full-site-editing/
Do you have the option to stay with PHP 7.4 for now? If not and you must update to PHP 8.x we would recommend updating to a newer theme as well. Because the new site editing tools allow you to customize your theme (with blocks) in the same way you would use the block editor to create custom page layouts, it would be possible to choose a modern block theme that is close to the appearance of Radcliffe-2, and then customize the templates directly.
We introduce the concepts of template editing in our recent webinar here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SK1kfQxkZBg
Hope that helps. Please let us know if you have any more questions.
